My inspiration for my collection is architecture, I’ve lived in Liverpool for four years now and I love the architecture and building’s that are here and my main inspiration for my jewellery was the Anglican Cathedral in particular the design on the ceiling, as I used an aspect of it to create the repeated shapes throughout my jewellery. The architectural theme ran through to my textiles work which I have created a range of unique scarves using a photograph of Liverpool Street station’s ceiling in London, by using Photoshop I have been able to repeat and create these interesting and new outcomes. Throughout the process I wanted to create a collection that would structure the human form but also compliment it also.
The inspiration for my work is architecture; I wanted to get elements of architecture within my work to create visually edgy but elegant outcomes throughout the aspects of my material areas. My ability in Photoshop and Coral Draw has enabled me to produce the strong architectural imagery that I have created throughout my pieces of textiles. Within metal I wanted to be able to sculpt around the shape of the body, compared to buildings the body is like the foundation and I have created these pieces to structure it but also compliment it.
